Here’s an edit with things more condensed, and with titles.
Watched the wages of fear, also watched La Bête Humaine by Renoir. I like Jean Gabin’s acting, but more so in the films by Carne. want to watch Port of Shadows soon as well. But I think I will look into Chaplin a bit first.
Read “Six Drawing Lessons” the book version of Kentridge’s Norton lectures at Harvard (xmas gift). Next on the reading list is “The Thief’s Journal” by Jean Genet.
Also got a dvd set of all of Georges Melies films and shorts, so I need to start taking a look at those.

Looking to apply to a couple of residencies over break. Here is a 5min video I’ll be using for the ones that allow 5min videos.
Been watching a lot of french films. Watched one called “Le Jour Se Leve” by Carne, another called “La Grande Illusion” by Renoir, and tonight I’m going to watch “Le Salaire de la Peur” by Clouzot.
Will hopefully be working on a short film over break.
I’ll also be working with Randy at the Brodsky on photo gravures by William Kentridge.
